Datadistillery FAQ
Where do my documents go after I have uploaded them?
Your documents go to a secure ftp site where they are accessed
confidentially by a d2k account manager. Your account manager will
review the documents and template file you have uploaded and contact
you with a price for the data distilling service, within 48hours.
What happens if I accept the price and want to go ahead?
Your documents will be downloaded by our dedicated datadistillery
staff and run through our proprietary software in order to automatically
extract the key data you require. This output of the automatic process
will be supervised and checked by distillery experts using interfaces
specially designed for speedy and accurate proofing. You will then
be given a preview of the output to decide if you are happy with
the quality and provided you are the final document will be emailed
back to you and the fee debited from your card (card details are
taken by telephone by your account manager at quote stage).
How do I know my documents and data are secure?
D2K operates strict confidentiality and security policies. Your
company name, contact details and file names are all stripped from
your account before reaching the distillery and kept in complete
confidence by your account manager. Datadistillery staff only see
the data they are extracting, not the context. All datadistillery
staff are checked thoroughly and are required to sign confidentiality
and non disclosure agreements.
Data2knowledge is situated in the European Union and we adhere closely
to all IP and confidentiality laws as defined by the EU.
Can I upload files other than word documents and webpages?
Yes! You can upload a range of files in different formats. In general
we have found that word documents, webpages, text files and excel
spreadsheets are the most frequent sources but we can handle data
files or ‘dumps’ from ms sql, oracle, db2, access and
formats such as tif, tiff, jpg, pdf just to mention a few. Data
‘dumps’ are only limited to non executable files and
spreadsheets with disabled macros.
Why can I only upload 30mb of files, I have tens or hundreds I
need to work through!?
D2K’s web based datadistillery service is designed for small
and medium sized business’ with small volume data consolidation
work that they need doing on an ad hoc basis. If you want to process
100 documents or less, you can do this through the datadistillery
service, please contact us to arrange secure transfer of your files.
If you have larger scale projects that you need help with, then
D2K Distil is the solution for you. Please contact us and we will
be happy to arrange a demonstration.
What if I want to use the datadistillery as an ongoing service?
You can sign up for a yearly subscription, payable monthly. The
details and pricing of this will depend upon the volume and nature
of documents you want processing. Your account manager will be happy
to discuss this with you and come up with a plan that is best for
you.
